SQRT is a multitouch sound board sample player. Users can tap on items to trigger various sounds and drag a triggered sound across the surface to adjust its parameters. The app also features two buttons on the side for altering sound triggering methods.
The pro version enables users to import their own sounds from iTunes or AudioShare and build custom grids.
SQRT includes a specially curated selection of glitch sounds by composer and sound designer Ctrl-t (Jan T.). These sounds are inspired by one of his recent live performances. To utilize personalized sounds, the pro version is recommended.
What sets SQRT apart is its unique functionality: while sounds can be triggered from a single point on the screen, the playback behavior can be modified across the entire screen. Each trigger point houses parameter settings' snapshots dispersed throughout the play area. Playback behavior can be altered by interpolating between these presets, which currently define pitch, loop start, and loop length.
